Arrabbiata is Italian for angry, which sums up the delicious bite from the garlic and chili. The arrabbiata sauce has a wonderful tomato base with crispy bits of bacon, lots of onion, garlic, dried red chili pepper flakes and fresh basil. I tossed this with spaghetti, but it would be great with any type of pasta.

This is probably blasphemous. It is a hybrid between Greek Village Salad (as my Greek husband calls it) and Panzanella (essentially rustic Italian Salad).

I finally headed down to my tomato patch the other night. There hasn’t been much point this summer, as our weather here in Seattle has been a little less than Summery. But after a nice sunny spell, I thought I should check. Indeed we had some pretty, ripe heirloom cherry tomatoes, and a bunch of basil.

I had an insane amount of tomatoes this weekend. Yellow and orange tomatoes! Pia’s favorite soup is tomato lately. That is all she is ever asking for: “Tomato Soup! Tomato Soup!” So I just thought I would take all of the orange tomatoes and make her “Tomato Soup!” It is always accompanied by a grilled cheese sandwich (of course, cause the girl has good taste)

This is a spin on the very traditional Caprese salad. While still simple in terms of ingredients, there are some added complexities in flavor because the Caprese Salad is made with roasted tomatoes, and I have added a fresh and delicious basil puree.
