When I was a little girl, I remember my dad taking me to Ivar’s in Seattle. They specialized in quintessential Northwest seafood and they had all the old school seafood gems like fried clams, fish and chips and of course, clam chowder. The clam chowder was always my favorite.
This was a special request by none other than my 8 year old nephew Dylan!
They went to a great French café in town, and he ordered the Carrot Curry Soup. I guess he scarfed the whole bowl down and loved it so much that he wanted me to come up with a recipe.

This is the most wonderful soup. It is total comfort food. It reminds me of a soup my grandmother would have made- kind of old fashioned, hearty mid-western food, you know?
