I am posting this on a Friday in hopes that this will be the perfect solution for your weekend breakfast.
Perfect soup to make from that sad Thanksgiving Turkey carcass that has been staring at you every time you open your refrigerator door for the last few days…
If there is one thing that takes me to new heights of food obsession, it is homemade freshly baked bread or anything in that arena. Like biscuits, or rolls for instance.
I am showing this to you today, because I think that this is a perfect dinner for Halloween.
ho would have thought that we would have to get half way through September before the basil growth was up to par for summer pesto!? That is Seattle for you.
I finally headed down to my tomato patch the other night. There hasn’t been much point this summer, as our weather here in Seattle has been a little less than Summery. But after a nice sunny spell, I thought I should check. Indeed we had some pretty, ripe heirloom cherry tomatoes, and a bunch of basil.
I had an overwhelming craving for pasta this afternoon. OVERWHELMING. Like I went downstairs and put a bowl of boiling water on as fast as my legs could carry me.
I was inspired to make this after flipping through an old wine country book that had a picture of a gorgeous focaccia bread studded with harvest grapes. It was very autumnal and looked so pretty that I thought I would like to make a summer version. That is what led me to this lovely recipe for focaccia bread with cherries and goat cheese.
This is a spin on the very traditional Caprese salad. While still simple in terms of ingredients, there are some added complexities in flavor because the Caprese Salad is made with roasted tomatoes, and I have added a fresh and delicious basil puree.
