Hello Beautiful Blueberries. Plentiful in the grocery stores, and calling my name, I just couldn’t resist falling off the healthy program wagon I have been on, and diving head first into a bubbling blueberry crostata. Wouldn’t you if this was staring back at you from the kitchen counter?

With Easter right around the corner, I know that many of you will be hosting the holiday at your home, or bringing a dish to someone else’s home. I urge you, right now, to volunteer for dessert. And then to make this Strawberry Rhubarb Sugar Cookie Crisp. Everyone will love and worship you for it. I promise.

This time of year, I am obsessed with blackberries. I can scarcely think of a more enticing dessert way to use them, than in a blackberry cobbler. Besides the fact that it highlights their supreme juiciness and amazing sweet flavor, it is also easy as pie! Or as cobbler?

This is the cake I brought to a recent “joint birthday”. It was a triple-decker Strawberry Cake with Vanilla Frosting. We still have tons of ripe gorgeous strawberries and the berries coming from the local strawberry farms are so beautiful and sweet. I pureed them and baked them right into the vanilla cake batter. The cake is not too sweet, and when it is paired with sweet tartness of the strawberries and the super sweet vanilla frosting, it is wonderful.

This is my favorite fruit crisp recipe packaged in an adorable (and delicious!) new way. I am in the throws of preparing for Fathers Day Dinner, The Fourth of July and non-stop outdoor dining with the gorgeous weather we are having. I have also had a recent surge in requests for picnic friendly food. This “fruit crisp in a jar” fits the bill for every one of those events.
