Getting Party Pretty… a giveaway!

Hi guys. Welcome to my new section called “stuff.” Stuff pretty much sums it up. It’s just stuff I like, stuff I wanted to show you that it isn’t food and isn’t about entertaining.

Like today. Today I thought I would share something with you that I adore. Pretty makeup. Pretty makeup that is beautiful on all skin colors and happen to be my favorite lineup of colors right now.

(By the way- sorry to any gentleman reading this right now. However you want to get in good with your wife/mother/daughter/sister/girlfriend right now- keep reading.)

I use these products regularly when I hit the town:

Nars Blush in “orga*m” (pretty, pretty peachy pink color)
MAC “Ruby Woo” red matte lipstick
MAC eye liner in “graphic black”
MAC eye shadows in “tempting” and “honey lust”
OPI red nail polish in “even red gives me the blues”

    My go to item is olay daytime lotion with a little illuminator and self tanner in it. It keeps me from getting that “pale like a vampire” with dark circles from my 4 kids keeping me up look….. :)

    A new product I have been using that is just A-MAZING is Kate Somerville “ExfoliKate”- Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. It leaves your skin looking just like it does right after a facial – you see and feel the results instantly. Glowing, fresh healthy skin – love it! You must try it. A few friends have been raving about BadLash mascara from Sephora – I will be trying it soon. At a bare minimum, a girl must have mascara and lipstick!

    So many products so little space! Time Balm concealer by The Balm! I have uber sensitive skin and I never sleep in makeup but this stuff is for daytime, nightime and bedtime! So if you have overnight guests you can wake up looking great while making a gourmet breakfast! And I never break out from it!

    Laura Mercier has this awesome eye product called Tightline (it doesn’t smudge and stay on all day!) which in forest green is my most-used item. Also love love love her black turquoise eyeliner for fun color.

    My fav. go to beauty item is a lip gloss by Clinique that is good for EVERY shade of skin. It’s called “knockout nude”…wear this with or without lip liner, to the grocery store, on a hot date, where ever you like–it looks great and makes you feel like a million bucks.

    Well for starters, I love MAC. And I started using O.P.I exclusively when I got pregnant two years ago since they have great colours and omit some of the harmful chemicals found in most nail polishes. But when I need to run out, it’s a simple 5 minute routine that works wonders! I use benefit concealer under eyes, Benefit Lemonade eyelid colour stay, MAC refined bronze bronzer to highlight cheekbones and outer eye area, MAC blush, quickly give the eyebrows a groom with some eyebrow powder, and if I look particularly tired, a quick curl of the eyelashes and a light coat of mascara.

    i looooooove OPI nail polish. Because I have crazy jungle hair, I need to use Aquage – that stuff is like liquid magic in my hair.
    One product that I like to splurge on once in a blue moon is Creme de la Mer. I is old now so I need that extra moisturizing qualities that i use around my eye area. LOVE!!
    The lip balm that i use is Rosebud Perfume minted lip balm. Keeps my terribly lips hydrated!

    hah! yeah right! I wear laura mercier tinted moisturizer during the day and then I mix it with a couple drops of MAC studio sculpt foundation. The real key to faking good skin is laura mercier concealer!

    My favorite go to beauty item is Chanel under eye concealer. I use it with a brush. It really gets those dark circles, but is so moist, it does not stick in one’s crows feet, if one were to have crows feet. (This one does!)

    I’m 56 and 3/4 so I have to use a lot of beauty products in order to face the world. I think the best foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear, it lasts all day. Clinque Almost lipstick in Black Honey is great for everyone, I’ve used it for 30 years. And I have to do my eyebrows because mine are half gone thanks to radiation treatments last year..for that I use an artist’s pencil from an art store but I have also used the powder and brush from MAC and really like it. I am going now to FB and like this giveaway, I am already your friend there.

    Hi Liz! Black honey was my first lipstick i ever purchased myself. I have almost no eyebrows genetically, so I sympathize. Mine are SO drawn on, same with my mom and sister. The best eyebrow brush I have ever encountered narcisco rodriguez, and the BEST eyebrow wax is vincent longo. (just in case you ever want to try something new :)

    Hi Heather, I am kind or in slomooo, but what is the brow wax you mentioned, how is it different from pencil? Does it last longer and will it not come off as easily if I accidently rub my eyebrow? Yes, it does look a bit odd to have one brow and not one brow, hee hee. There is also a company called Anastasia (?) that specializes in eyebrow goodies, including shapers, but so far I’m doing that okay on my own. I am interested in knowing more about the eyebrow wax, and where I can purchase it..thank you!

    Hi Liz! I just think that the wax applied with that stiff brush I mentioned is very realistic looking. The wax will probably not stay on too much better than a pencil, but the wax does cling nicely to the little hair that I have on my brows! I have Anastasia! They are great. Their powder does last, and they sell it at Nordstroms. However their stencils are a little dramatic for my taste. I think your best bet is to order that vincent logo eyebrow wax online, as well as the narcisco rodriguez brow brush.

    Also! My favorite go to product would have to be my under eye concealer. I have very fair skin and use you can see my veins and stuff through that thin skin. Icky dark circles!. Neutrogena Eye Cream with 15SPF is my fav. It’s cheap and it’s a liquid, not a stick that you have to rub in and damage that fragile skin. It brightens my under eye area and protects it. Also, it’s a moisturizer, (mandatory at daytime, too cause it helps plump your skin cells to keep them looking less wrinkly and helps prevent wrinkles).
